About Me
My name is Lars Jensen, 56 years old.
I have been working in the container shipping industry for 25 years, most of the time as an analyst gazing into the crystal ball to discern trends and changes to come.
In addition I am addicted to travel and have an ambition to visit every place on earth.
Fortunately these two passions go hand-in-hand, especially in my project to explore Africa's awakening as a major global trade hub over the coming decades.
In case you wonder what "every place" on earth means, I am tracking my travels with Nomad Mania. You can see my past travel history on Nomad Mania by clicking HERE
At the bottom of the page you can see a summary from my Nomad Mania profile. Orange regions are the ones I have visited and "NM" shows the count of regions visited (out of a total of 1381 in the whole world). UN is the number of UN countries visited.
The number next to Danish flag indicate ny "rank" amongst the most travelled people in Denmark as per the number of regions visited.
About my van "Sally"

During a test trip to France in 2025 many names were explored. But after driving some 4000km it turned out "Sally" was the name that felt right.
Sally is a VW T3 Syncro from 1987 and has had many different owners since then. I have had her since January 2025.
She is equipped with the following:
-
Permanent 4-wheel drive
-
Ethanol powered stovetop
-
60 liter water tank
-
2 x 60 liter diesel tanks
-
1.9L TD AAZ engine
-
An extra strong coolant fan
-
16" tires
And, perhaps importantly, she does not have air condition....
