Busy and calm at the same time

Day 11 of the voyage and it feels like I have been gone much longer already given the many experiences and impressions I have had thus far.

But the most important feeling is one of calm and relaxation. A nice routine of having plenty of time for breakfast, yet also time for early morning work. Stopping regularly to see something to avoid a day of only driving. And a relaxing late afternoon in the shade when we have found a parking spot for Sally and pulled out the awning.

There has been time to visit plenty of new UNESCO world heritage sites - I do have an ambition to visit them all. On the journey so far I have already visited 13 new sites which I had not been to previously. The most interesting would have to be the Plantin-Moretus museum in Antwerp.

The journey through the landscapes of Belgium and France also provided the opportunity to visit and see locations related to three major wars: World War 1, World War 2 as well as Waterloo where Napoleon lost the was against most of the rest of Europe in 1815.

In addition, there was joy to be found in various art installations as well as cartoon characters - after all Belgium is clearly the cartoon capital of the world :-)
